Veneers
Do you find yourself covering your mouth with your hand or smiling with your lips closed? Do you avoid having photos taken or looking in the mirror because you don’t like the appearance of your teeth?
Dr. Giraldo believes that everyone should be able to smile with confidence. For patients who aren’t comfortable with their smile, veneers can be the ideal solution.

What are veneers?
Veneers are thin, durable, tooth-colored porcelain shells that are bonded onto the front of your teeth. All veneers are custom-made in our lab.
The process is simple:
- First appointment: We take an impression of your teeth to help us plan your treatment so that we can determine together how your veneers should look.
- Second appointment: We remove a small amount of enamel from your teeth and take a final impression to send to the lab. We’ll also place temporary veneers until your custom veneers are ready.
- Final appointment: Your permanent veneers will be bonded to your teeth.
Who can benefit from veneers?
Veneers are able to address a wide variety of dental issues, among them worn, stained, crooked, or chipped teeth, as well as gaps between teeth. As long as the underlying teeth are healthy, veneers are the ideal solution for surface-level cosmetic issues.

How do I care for my veneers?
Once your veneers are in place, you’ll still require regular cleanings from your dental hygienist as well as annual checkups. Daily brushing and flossing are also important. Make sure that you select a non-abrasive toothpaste free of ingredients like hydrogen peroxide or baking soda.
We may recommend that you use a night guard while sleeping in order to protect the enamel on your lower teeth. Even if you do not knowingly grind your teeth, porcelain is damaging to enamel during even slight grinding of the teeth.
